Rookie 16 year old Tyler Thomas overcomes illnesses, emergency room visits, spins and crashes to
become a competitor in NASCAR Series. Oct 2009

Like many rookies in NASCAR it has been a year of hard Knocks for young Tyler Thomas. Sure you're going to wreck cars, cut
tires, kiss the wall and become frustrated. There were so many highs and lows throughout the season. We have watched him
work his way though a pack of 27 cars to end up 7th. He has also been up front and had "racing incident happen" where he
could not finished the race. Tyler showed real class when he climbed back into his car 5 days after surgery to support the track
and the other drivers. Unfortunately for Tyler there would be 12 races that he would miss due to medical reasons. This would
destroy any chances doing well in any of the points races for 2009. After all was said and done we never heard him complain.
Tyler keep a great attitude whether he crashed out, had mechanical failure, was being coached by Crew chief or was getting
Lectured by owners. He has had to work hard his first year in the shop, at school, at the track and on the road. Tyler has
become a professional driver, you wont see it in the points but you will know it when you meet him. In completing half of the
season Tyler has placed 18th out of 53 drivers at All American Speedway. 12th in points in the WESTCAR division. Unknown In
the NASCAR national points (only 1/2 the season) we will update you with his results when they come in.
As a team we wanted to give a special thanks to the Nascimento Motorsports team, Crew chief Chad Nascimento, The Fans, The
competition, NASCAR, WESTCAR, Loomis Basin Veterinary clinic, Warehouse paint, Rookers Collision center, P-U Propane.
Les Schwab tires, Superfast Signs, Beach Hut deli, Russ Ortman, Gary Quigley, Ralph Harkins. Everyone who encouraged us
throughout the year thanks again. And there is that one person who said we would never make it this far, Well lets leave it at

Irwindale experience proves to be beneficial for young driver.
| The 2010 race season is officially here. Tyler spent last weekend at the Toyota Showdown in Irwindale California. Working side by side with the team that crews his car. The weekend gave Tyler the chance to appreciate and learn more about what happens outside of the race car from the crews perspective. Working with NASCAR driver Eric Holmes and Nascimento Motorsports was an unbelievable experience. Eric is a real class act and a great mentor for younger drivers. With plans to run the 2011 showdown is was great to get adjusted to Irwindales facility's. Tyler is now planning on returning to Irwindale in 2010 for testing and a possible race or two. Lets just say the car, the team and Tyler are ready for the 2010 season to start. Stay safe, Stay Fast |
